Heading Into Language Land is a card game designed to make language learning truly unforgettable by transforming the process of learning a language into a magical adventure for you and your friends! Multiple players with different ages, ability levels, and target languages can all put their knowledge of their languages to the test simultaneously! In addition, you can play solo, cooperatively, or competitively, and the time required to play, as well as the difficulty level, can be adjusted easily. Now, there’s no excuse: you can play your way to mastery over your target language!

In this game, you get the chance to become one of several amazing fantasy characters, travel freely to visit wondrous locations, collect special pick ups, and clash with other players in battle. What’s more, all of the people, places, and deadly creatures you will encounter while playing Heading Into Language Land come directly out of the story by the same name, and they all present special word categories unique unto themselves. You must speak – or sign! – words or sentences in your target languages about those word categories in order to win over allies, defeat enemies, raise your langevity, and achieve victory.

Whenever I design cards for my language learning card games like Heading Into Language Land, I always do my best to incorporate a wide variety of word categories, types, and difficulty levels. As thoughtful as that process may be, I doubt it could ever capture all of your specific and extraordinary interests that you would like to be able to communicate about in your target language. That is why I want to offer to you the card commission option! With this option, you will have the chance to choose the word categories and topics that mean the most to you to include on your very own, custom-made card. And by aspiring to use that card effectively during the game, you will naturally be immersed more and more deeply in your own, personal language learning journey. Take a look at some of my customers’ card commissions below.

 

This card, Shizi, was made for a customer named Leon, according to his specifications. He hired his own artist to create the artwork, which he sent over to me. And then, I worked closely with him to create the perfect topic, rule text, story text, etc. In the end, Leon received professionally printed copies of the physical game card to use with his Heading Into Language Land game deck, and also, the print-and-play PDF version of the card.

 

 

The artwork for Jalen was created by a customer named JayDonn, using AI. He then sent the artwork over to me, and I worked closely with him to finish the rest.
