“It was so cool playing the French Language Guardians with Arabic speakers [in Morroco] because everybody could speak French, and I was learning Arabic through them and I was teaching English to them, so we had three languages going on. “One of the things I like most about the Language Guardians card game is simply the visuals. The visuals are really cool, which makes the cards more interesting to look at. I really like the simple gameplay because I sometimes play more complex board games and I don’t really have the patience to learn a lot of rules and take an hour to get into it. I would say this game is not for complete beginners, though. There’s nothing too extreme, but some things might be a little difficult for complete beginners. There are print and play versions available, which is great. The game is easy to create house rules for, to change it up for your needs as a learner or a teacher. You could redefine what each color means, or a play in a way to emphasize a certain grammar point.”
