What Customers Are Saying About Language Guardians…

“I was really amazed by the packaging! Such a gorgeous green bag and a cute little box! I can see you really put a lot of care & love into each of these packages before shipping them around the world. Thank you for that! I have already taken a quick look at the cards and can’t wait to try the games! Thanks as well for all the extra material (pdfs, videos, etc) – It’s a great surplus & help!”
-Nicky, Belgium

“I learned about you from a video Lamont (Days of French ‘n’ Swedish) made. I had put off watching the video while I got organized for my uni semester until today. I have always loved card games, so I decided to give your game a shot since it definitely has quite a bit of replayability. My best friend has been showing some interest in learning Mandarin (I have been studying Japanese for about a year) and we get pretty competitive with each other, so I thought that this game could be a fun tool for me to learn Mandarin with my friend.

First impressions from me testing a solo run are:
-My Japanese still sucks haha.
-Even if I am struggling to answer the card well, it is assisting me in showing the areas or categories where my vocabulary is still lacking.
-I will be a repeat customer.

-I really like this way that you have turned what could have been a long arduous process of me wandering around, wondering what vocab I should learn next (possibly wasting my time), into a fun experience with these prompts.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the great service and I wanted to mention that I saw “Heading Into Language Land” and it seems very fun as well, so I am looking forward to that being released.”

-Frank, Puerto Rico

“I bought the games to help my significant other learn Danish, and while we haven’t played often, it is a fun addition to the learning process. We are currently on the first series, we are not using all the cards, but I’m certain eventually we’ll be playing with all the cards, and possibly multiple series. With continued use it’s sure to enhance our language speaking skills.”

-Alfred, Denmark

“My experience with Language Guardians has been good. I have used it with my children (3 and 8) to expand their vocabulary in English, while practicing my Indonesian. It kept my 3 year old engaged for an hour, which is not always easy to do. My eight year old found the cards interesting, he really enjoyed the fantasy themed phrases on each card. I would also like to compliment you on your customer support. I hope this really takes off for you. I know I am going to spread the word.”
-Damian, Australia

“I’m very much looking forward to getting this game. I’m always looking for ways to fit language learning into my day, so this should be a great way to have fun with language practice!”

-Kimberley, Australia

“If you love playing games and learning languages through games, then Language Guardians is the right one for you! It is great for students, friends, and family members. Language Guardians gives you a great opportunity to get together, play, learn and have fun. While playing the game, I noticed that it is perfectly designed based on (10-23) different topics and each topic has four different colors. Its design makes it unique in the market and that’s why I bought this game and decided to play with my wife at least once a week. My favorite part is the challenge part, where I always like to challenge my wife. We also like to time each other to find the answers and try not to use a dictionary. I would definitely recommend this card game to anyone who is interested in learning a second/third language through card games. Language Guardians doesn’t only teach a new language, but also expands your general knowledge. I think of it as a great way to enlarge the circle of my vocabulary in French and English. Thank you for bringing joy and excitement to our lives!”

Hamza, China, Teacher

“J’ai essayé ce jeu et je le recommande aux gens car ça nous permet d’apprendre beaucoup de choses dans plusieurs domaines et enrichir notre vocabulaire, notamment nôtre culture générale. J’ai adoré ce jeu et je le joue pratiquement 2 fois par semaine avec mon mari.”

Assia, China

“It was so cool playing the French Language Guardians with Arabic speakers [in Morroco] because everybody could speak French, and I was learning Arabic through them and I was teaching English to them, so we had three languages going on. And sometimes, I would bring in my French dialect, so sometimes it was like four languages! At first, it was a little bit confusing, but it was so cool after we got the hang of it. It made sense.”

Jessika, China, Teacher

“One of the things I like most about the Language Guardians card game is simply the visuals. The visuals are really cool, which makes the cards more interesting to look at. I really like the simple gameplay because I sometimes play more complex board games and I don’t really have the patience to learn a lot of rules and take an hour to get into it. I would say this game is not for complete beginners, though. There’s nothing too extreme, but some things might be a little difficult for complete beginners. But you could just remove those cards from the game. It is quite adaptable.”

“I have received both orders [Chinese Champions 1 and Language Guardians] and I really appreciate it! Your communication and customer service is top notch. I have recently relocated to China. I am currently teaching all ages English and I have found that my older teenage students thoroughly enjoy playing Language Guardians! It turns an otherwise difficult to elicit group into a chatty, giggling, and slightly competitive one. It’s tremendous! I have yet to play the Chinese Champions game. However, my company provides free Chinese lessons taught by our locally employed English teachers and I hope to be able to try it in class with my other colleagues. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks so much for the versatile language games! Very creative stuff.”

Sam, USA, Teacher

“I ordered several games this week. So excited to get them! How did you come up with this? It’s brilliant!”

Sanorah, Canada, Founder of The Language Lounge (in Ottawa)

“These games are fun so far! I’ve been starting out with the simpler ones (Fighting Flashcards and Language Guardians), but plan to learn the more complicated ones, like Othertongue, soon. My friend, who also ordered games from you recently, is my housemate. He’s played the games with me several times and enjoyed them. I guess he wanted his own set, especially since I’m going to have to move away for work soon, and will take my games with me. We have several housemates all of whom are avid board game players, and several of whom are learning languages as well. My friend in particular is a big linguistics geek and a conlanger, so I knew that LCG would be popular around here when I bought the games! Good luck with your business! I think you’re making a really clever product and I hope it continues to get popular!”

Ansel, USA

“Language Guardians is really cool! It’s available in multiple languages. And it doesn’t matter what language you are learning as long as, obviously, you can understand the language of the version printed on the cards, so it’s suitable for any language. What you have are different colors and categories you can match, and the colors change what your task is. Green is nouns, blue is verbs, black and white is adjectives, and red is sentences.”

Lindsay Williams, England, Founder of Lindsay Does Languages

“I was beyond excited when I found your website while doing a Google search for a related language topic. I regularly attend language exchanges and language meet-ups in my region of the USA. As a regular attendee of these types of language meetings, I can truly appreciate what you are doing with creating these card games specifically for learning languages. I bought Language Guardians and was truly impressed with it. It is very educational yet fun and I LOVE that it can be used for any language.”

Leon, USA

“This game is basically UNO mixed with language learning! It’s great! The colors represent nouns, verbs, and adjectives. I have a bit of a problem with how the cards are templated, but overall, it is really engaging, and fun, and made us laugh a lot. We were actually able to carry a running joke throughout the game. There are print and play versions available, which is great. The game is easy to create house rules for, to change it up for your needs as a learner or a teacher. You could redefine what each color means, or a play in a way to emphasize a certain grammar point.”

Dakota, Founder of Dakota Abroad (formerly Language Learning Lounge)

“One thing that Phil and I liked about this game was that there were lots of different topics. Motivation and enjoyment are a huge part of language-learning and if you don’t have those things, then eventually you’re going to fizzle out. I think this is a good way to keep learning fresh, keep it fun, and it encourages you to learn languages with other people who are potentially native speakers of the language you or trying to learn or people who are learning the same language that you are trying to learn. When you go to board games stores there aren’t a lot of games for language-learning, so I think there’s a pretty big niche for this. I started playing this game with my students for French, and they love it!”

Michael Cristiano, Founder of The Polyglot Files, Canada, and his friend, Phil

“The teacher who ordered this said it is excellent! I will ask them to send some more words later. Best regards!”

Ashley, England, School Director

“I’m always looking for English language products for my boy that are actually cool. Thank you for these! And I have one suggestion that you could make some additional resources or videos that explain the meaning of the word on each card and how to pronounce them.”

Adam, China, Teacher

“Lucky me. As the very first Aussie to get to play a very upmarket version of UNO called Language Guardians. The colors represent nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and give you different challenges. Brillo stuff. My TESOL students be lucky. I like the shiny tin holding the gorgeous game, but the surprise quote on each card makes it tre literary. Today, Language Guardians was launched in my ESOL classroom. Already, my student added his twist: the whole thing is practiced in past tense. Surprising amount of laughs to be had. Gratitude to Language Card Games.”
