Vocabulary is your new weapon.
Chinese Champions is a Mandarin Chinese language card game that challenges you to enrich your vocabulary. In this game, players unlock and command powerful weapons, monsters, characters, and locations by memorizing their names. Every card clearly shows an English word, its simplified Chinese character translation, and the pinyin pronunciation guide for those characters. If you can remember a card’s name, you can use it to fight; if you can’t, you lose it!
Chinese Champions language card game combines the strategy of a competitive trading card game with language learning! Players can choose which vocabulary words and which creatures to include in their deck based on their strategy and what they personally want to learn. Every card has a unique rule and ability, so players can collect and trade them in order to build one-of-a-kind decks.
The learning curve for this game is a little bit higher than most language card games on the market, but the challenge, strategy, and replay value are also higher as a result. To fully support my customers on their language learning journey, I publish youtube videos (with game tutorials and pronunciation lessons) and PDF rulebooks packed with valuable bonus content.
In China, Matthew Boyle and Helen Liu (a native Chinese speaker and teacher) created all the artwork for Chinese Champions by paper cutting, carried out the translation work, and, of course, designed the rules. We can’t wait for you to join the ranks of excited players currently using this game to hack Chinese!

About The Creator
My name is Matthew Boyle. In 2011, I felt the urge to leave America and teach English in China. I’ve lived there ever since. Not only do I love Chinese language and culture, but I have a passion for designing and playing all types of games. It seemed natural for me to create Chinese Champions to blend those two interests. Now, with a shuffle of the cards and a roll of the dice, it’s easy to learn dazzling Chinese words with my friends.
I created Language Card Games because I believe that for learning languages, card games just can’t be beat! Don’t think so? Check out my post on the advantages of language card games!
