What percentage of the world’s languages are endangered?

Yesterday, we talked about how many languages exist in the world today (roughly 7,000). On the heels of that question, I’d like to ask you an equally interesting and sobering question today.

Q5: What percentage of the world’s languages are endangered?

A: 30%
B: 40%
C: 50%
D: 60%

Once a language has become endangered, that basically means that there are only a few speakers left and children are, for the most part, not learning the language.

I will post or confirm your answers tomorrow!
